"We in the Vineyard have, on the very outset of our ministry made worship our highest priority, believing that it is God’s desire that we become, first, worshippers of God.”  John Wimber

“Worship is not about the style of music, but the heart. Music is only a tool to
better help us worship the Lord. To label worship with music is only limiting
our expression of worship.”
Jonathan Simonson

"Real intimacy cannot be created by simply singing the right songs. Intimate worship really hap-pens when the songs come as an overflow of a heart full of love. Real intimacy is like marriage, and it only works as we forsake all others." Brian Doerksen

Worshiping God is the greatest thing we can do. We are created for exactly that "Worshiping God". We are committed to doing more than singing songs about God and playing instruments in a skillful manner...
We are on a journey for a tight relationship with the Creator of this universe, God Almighty. He wants more than "superficial" worship, he wants us to have the same Passion, Intimacy and a Deep Desire that He has for us his bride.
So lets draw into him and allow him to catch us. Let's go to that special place and receive His amazing and unfailing love. Jonathan Simonson

Vineyard Worship
by Jonathan Simonson

Since the Beginning of the Vineyard movement years ago, Worship has been one of the highest priorities of our church. Worship to us isn't just music and song. It's a lifestyle. It's an attitude. It's the way we live. To exalt God in every area of our lives is true worship.

Here at the Vineyard, We declare the joyous celebration of God's presence in our lives, the awesomeness of His sovereignty over the whole universe, and the tangible ness of a perfect Father's love for us, His children. We view worship as a lifestyle and an attitude as well as a part of our meetings together. In these ways it is choosing to give all honor and thankfulness back to the Lord for His presence in our lives. Although some contemporary religious styles often interpret reverence to God as something quiet and somber, scriptural worship is quite diverse. Biblical worship connotes freedom, ranging from standing, raising hands or dancing to kneeling or lying prostrate, from quiet reflective listening to loud passionate praise. We can, Worship God through the art's, dance and drama as a tool to proclaim our love for God. The songs we sing are modern but they contain the spiritual truths that we cling to in the Bible. As exemplified in the Psalms, we desire to bring together all of the instruments in declaration of God's goodness, faithfulness, mercy and love.

How to get involved

Here at the Vineyard we value your talents, but above that, we value you. We are committed to not exploit your giftedness at the cost of your character, you are important to us as an individual, and so we desire for you to be involved in care group to build significant relationships within the Church, before becoming a worship team member. We desire to know you.

Requirements for becoming worship team member

  • Having a heart of worship that is expressed in all areas of your life.

  • Attend Church and a Home Group.

  • Established relationship of trust and accountability within the church.

  • Being committed to the overall values and priorities of the Vineyard. This commitment is expressed through involvement in serving in the church in some capacity.

  • Calling and anointing from God to minister in music. (This is something that the worship team leader will help to discern). Many people are gifted musically; a smaller number of people are called by God to minister in the church in music.

There are other factors involved, such as

  • The personal preferences of each worship Team leader in choosing team members.

  • Whether or not there are currently needs for musicians.

  • The timing of God's call on each individual.

  • Visiting Worshipers from other churches may be invited to join the team for the day.

How do worship team leaders become aware of potential worship team members?

  • Casual social contact within the church. For example, a Team Leader may feel an interest or God's leading in inviting someone to be a part of the worship ministry team.

  • Opportunities are available to be a part of worship ministry through weekly practice, monthly forum, and small groups.

  • The recommendations of friends.

How aggressive should a person be in pursuing
the possibility of being on a worship team?

Being free of selfish ambition and self-promotion is one of the qualifying requirements for worship team involvement. If you have a desire to be involved and if God wants you to be involved, then the right opportunities open up in his timing. You won't have to sell anyone on the idea that you should be on a Worship Team. That's God's job!

On the other hand, if you never take any steps forward to pursue Music Ministry, you will never find out if it's the right thing for you. Feel free to call the church office and ask some questions.

What can we offer you?

Our goal is to equip, train and send people who have a gifting and desire to lead others into worship. Here is a partial list of some things we offer to those interested in becoming more involved in worship:

  • We have a weekly Worship Group Meeting/Practice that teaches about intimacy with God and worshiping Him in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24).

  • Education in the sound & video ministry

  • Guitar Lessons.
